Living with chronic pain is not only frustrating, it can also be tricky to treat effectively. Standard treatments such as massage and acupuncture do not always successfully manage pain for everyone, and at Las Vegas Laser and Lipo, we offer a solution – MLS laser therapy.
Serving the Las Vegas area for more than 15 years, Dr. Edward Zimmerman and the medical team at Las Vegas Laser and Lipo are extensively trained and ready to tell you what MLS laser therapy can do for you. Contact us today to set up a consultation.
What is MLS Laser Therapy?
The first of its kind, the multiwave locked system (MLS) laser uses both pulsed light and continuous light to control swelling and reduce pain. Up until its invention, these two types of lasers were manufactured separately.
The light energy of the MLS laser penetrates deep into cells that are damaged while also stimulating cell activity, encouraging damaged muscle, ligament and tendon cells to repair themselves after exposure to the laser therapy.
A safe procedure, MLS laser therapy is applied directly to the treated area and is calibrated to treat each individual patient in dosage, pulse and duration. Pulling water, nutrients and oxygen to the treated area to increase circulation, MLS laser therapy also decreases the amount of therapy needed to the affected area.
What Does MLS Laser Therapy Treat?
The MLS laser has been proven to effectively treat several conditions, including:
- Sports injuries
- Back and joint pain
- Tendon and ligament injuries
- Post-surgical swelling
- Sore muscles
- Disc disease
Benefits of MLS Laser
In addition, the MLS laser has several benefits over traditional laser therapy, such as:
- Faster wound healing
- Cell and tissue growth are accelerated
- MLS laser therapy stimulates trigger points and acupuncture points
- Increased metabolic activity
- It can be used without the combination of x-rays or drugs
- Provides a pain-relieving effect to treated areas
Does MLS Laser Therapy Have Any Side Effects?
During MLS laser therapy, patients report feeling a comfortable, warm sensation during treatment but usually do not feel the laser itself. Additionally, there are no known side effects to this therapy. Protective eyewear is worn by the patient during treatment as well, ensuring that the eyes are not exposed in any way to the laser.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect?
Generally, multiple MLS laser therapy treatment sessions are required to achieve the best pain management, but some patients show significant improvement after as few as three sessions. While it is impossible to predict how each individual body will react and respond to the treatment, most patients achieve long-term pain management and relief.
